Were the gospel writers present during the time of Jesus?

J.  Warner Wallace was the second generation of three generations to serve on the Torrance Police Department in California.  He was a staunch atheist who chided his friends and fellow officers who claimed to be Christians but couldn’t defend their faith. At one point, he and his wife were thinking about starting their family. His wife, who was also not a believer, started thinking that it might be a good thing for the anticipated children to go to church. Illinois Foreshadows the Future of US Pensions

Are you paying attention to what is happening with the pensions in Illinois? If you’re like most people who don’t live in Illinois, you’re wondering why you should care since it isn’t your state, right? A judge just ruled that the State of Illinois has to use 100% of their (tax) income to pay for the pensions. They are not allowed to reduce the pension amounts promised. Minimum Wage

What’s the minimum wage objective? Proponents of raising the minimum wage have stated their goal is to obtain a “living wage” for the lowest paid worker. That sounds truly magnanimous on the surface. Nobody is sure exactly how much time has passed. Various commentary writers and biblical experts estimate somewhere between 40 days and two years. There is an introduction to a couple new characters in this chapter which should be explained before we get into the actual look at the verses. The first is a group of men from Persia, who have been called by many names. Those names include the Magi, the wise...

What Can One Learn From The Birth of Jesus Christ?

We are talking here, in Matthew 1:18-25, about the circumstance surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. Perhaps, it would be wise to establish a little background for the Gospel according to Matthew. This book was written primarily for the Jewish people. How do we know that? It is because he starts out the first chapter with 17 verses about the lineage of Jesus. Two thousand years ago, a person’s lineage was important. The churches of that era kept detailed records of whom was related to whom. Jesus came down the lineage from Abraham and King David. The bible...
